Trinity update
Published:Welcome to the first edition of Focus, a newsletter through which we hope to share with you articles, news and information relevant to your business and ours. Focus will cover a number of Trinity’s core sectors including energy, oil & gas, transport infrastructure and telecoms, particularly in the emerging markets. We also aim to provide a view into the murky world of legal and project finance jargon in "Legalese" which we hope you will find useful.
Trinity International LLP is a niche project finance and corporate law firm established in February 2006 which focuses on the emerging markets. Now well into its second year, the firm has just taken occupation of its newly fitted out office space on Old Bailey in London. The firm is continuing to expand having recently taken on Conrad Marais, a senior associate with a strong background in corporate and energy transactions.
Trinity is currently busy in a number of areas, notably the power sector in Africa. By way of example, we acted for Aldwych International Limited in relation to the recent acquisition of the 600MW coal-fired Kelvin power station in Johannesburg, South Africa and are currently advising on the early stages of power transactions in Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia and South Africa.
In this edition of Focus, Milo Sjardin of New Carbon Finance (www.newcarbonfinance.com), a leading provider of fundamental-driven analysis of European and global carbon markets, provides his view as to whether Africa will benefit from the burgeoning CDM market. You can also learn all you ever wanted to know about deeds and simple contracts in this edition’s Legalese.
We hope you find Focus interesting and relevant. If you have any comments or suggestions as to how it could be improved, please get in contact with us. You will find the contact details on the back page.
