Max is a Partner and Managing Director of Trinity International (Singapore) Law Pte. Ltd., a member firm of the Trinity International group of law firms.

Max is based in Singapore and has previously worked for leading US and UK law firms, where he gained extensive project development and financing experience across a range of sectors, including power (conventional and renewables), social and transportation infrastructure, oil and gas, mining, and industrial projects. Max’s transactional experience spans across the Asia-Pacific, Africa, the Middle East, Europe and Canada. Max regularly acts for a wide variety of clients including project developers and sponsors, host governments, engineering, procurement and construction and operation and maintenance contractors, private equity investors and financial institutions, in particular development finance institutions (DFIs). Max also practices in the area of mergers and acquisitions in the natural resources and infrastructure sectors.

Max has extensive experience advising government procurers on large-scale strategic infrastructure and public-private partnership (PPP) projects, having worked with the International Finance Corporation, the Asian Development Bank, the African Legal Support Facility and other DFIs and development agencies on market-firsts in several frontier markets, including Mongolia (advising the Government of Mongolia and project sponsors on independent power producer (IPP) projects and an eco-industrial park), Myanmar (toll road PPP, oil and gas and mining concessions), Afghanistan (road project), Pakistan (large-scale IPP), Lao PDR (legislative drafting assignment), Cambodia (solar PV IPP with battery storage), Timor-Leste (general government advisory mandate for the Government of Timor-Leste), Algeria (legislative drafting assignment) and Madagascar (currently advising on the first large-scale IPPs in Madagascar as advisory team leader).  Max also counts several project developers as clients and has helped them achieve their goals in the Asia-Pacific region, regularly advising on project development work and on acquisitions and divestments of assets (individual assets and portfolios).

Max is admitted as a lawyer in New York and Quebec (Canada) and holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and a Bachelor of Civil Law (B.C.L.) degree from McGill University, and a Master’s degree (M.Sc.) from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is fluent in English and French and has experience handling matters in both languages.
