George is an English qualified lawyer and Counsel at Trinity International (Singapore) Law Pte. Ltd.
He specialises in project finance and development, with a particular focus on emerging and frontier markets. Based in South-east Asia since 2016, he has acted as external and in-house counsel to advise multilateral institutions, funds and corporates on matters relating to project finance, investment and development across the natural resources, energy and infrastructure sectors, among others, using a wide variety of structures including syndicated and bilateral debt, receivables and inventory finance, minority equity investments and acquisitions, as well as distressed asset management and exits.
Prior to joining Trinity Singapore, George was Principal Counsel for multinational mining company Anglo American’s global Structured Origination business headquartered in Singapore providing debt, equity and hybrid financing to unlock offtakes from junior miners across target commodities and carbon credit generating projects.
Before that, he was Senior Associate in Hogan Lovells’ Asia-Pacific focused projects practice where he was appointed lead lawyer in their Hanoi office. While at Hogan Lovells, he was seconded to International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Singapore where he supported their project and financing transactions across Asia-Pacific, through all sectors of IFC’s operations. He has worked with a large number of DFIs on development focused matters using blended finance to support the energy transition, job creation, access to finance, healthcare and education, and economic development generally.
His diverse skillset is complemented by experience working on complex matters from a contentious perspective, having spent the first 3 years of his career as an Associate in the International Dispute Resolution department of Gide Loyrette Nouel in London and Paris, where he acted on a number of high value development and construction related disputes.
George is fluent in French as well as his native English, and has experience handling matters in both languages.
